What can I bring in to sell?

At My Sister’s Closet, we accept contemporary and high end designer clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Items should be current styles, seasonally appropriate, and generally no more than two years old. All items must be in new or like-new condition.

How does consigning work?

You can stop by any time during store hours to consign your items. If you’re bringing a large number of items, we may ask you to leave them with us so our team can review, select, and price them without rushing or disrupting shoppers.
You’re always welcome to call ahead to see if it’s a good time to stop by. You can reach us at 781-435-2458.
Once you consign, we’ll create an account for you in our system with the necessary information.

What do I earn?

What if my items don't sell?

If your items do not sell within 60 days, you may choose to donate them to the women’s shelter we support. If you do not wish to donate, it is your responsibility to contact us before the 60-day period ends to arrange pickup of your unsold items. If we do not hear from you or pickup arrangements are not made by the 60th day, unsold items will be donated, as we do not have extra storage space. High-end items will not be donated, including but not limited to Louis Vuitton, David Yurman, Canada Goose, and YSL.

How do I receive payment?

You may receive your earnings by check or apply them toward your next purchase. Funds are available as soon as an item sells.

How do I check my account?

You’re welcome to call us or stop by the store, and we’ll be happy to provide your current account balance.

What is your return/exchange policy?

No returns.

Consignment Agreement Terms

All items must be current styles, in season, clean, and in excellent condition. Any items that do not meet these standards after drop-off will be donated.

Retail pricing is determined by the My Sister’s Closet team and typically ranges from 20%–50% of original retail value. All inventory is subject to daily and seasonal promotions at the discretion of My Sister’s Closet (including, but not limited to, end-of-season sales and special events).

The consignment period is 60 days. Items that do not sell within this time will be donated to a local non-profit organization, unless the CONSIGNOR indicates at the time of drop-off that they wish to pick up unsold items.

CONSIGNORS are responsible for tracking their own consignment period. If you choose to retrieve unsold items, it is your responsibility to return to the store and collect them. Items must be picked up on or before the 60th day; any items not collected by that time will be donated.

Funds from sold items are held in your account for one year from the date of sale.

Layaway

Merchandise can be put on layaway for a period of 60 days. A 30 % deposit, based on the total sale amount, is due at the time of beginning your layaway. The 30% deposit is non-refundable. Remaining balance must be paid on or before the 60th day.
